Postdoctorado en el área de Profesores/as y profesión docente

Descripción
Se espera que el/la candidata desarrolle una investigación referida a temas de profesores/as, su ejercicio, formación y políticas relevantes (en cualquier nivel del sistema educativo (incluyendo superior) en el Centro de Investigación Avanzada en Educación (CIAE) del Instituto de Investigación Avanzada en Educación de la Universidad de Chile. Las áreas relevantes incluyen temas de política y práctica con relevancia nacional y/o comparativa internacional. Se espera que el/la candidata colabore activamente con investigadores del CIAE en estos y otros temas relevantes.

Requisitos:

• Doctorado en Educación, Sociología u otra área relevante obtenido entre el 1° de enero 2019 y el 16 mayo 2022.
• Publicaciones académicas relevantes
• Capacidad de trabajo en equipo y de comunicación social.
• Inglés (capacidad lectora como mínimo).
• Conocimiento y capacidad avanzada en el uso métodos de investigación cuantitativos y/o cualitativos.

Investigación propuesta:
El o la candidata debe presentar una reseña breve de la investigación propuesta de no más de 3000 palabras relacionada con el área temática indicada arriba. La propuesta debe incluir: objetivos, marco conceptual, métodos y plan de desarrollo de la investigación propuesta, además de indicar como contribuye al campo de la educación.

• Carta de intención indicando el fundamento de su postulación (no más de 2 páginas)
• Dos recomendaciones recientes referidas a su trabajo académico y capacidades de investigación

Información relevante
Se requiere dedicación de tiempo completo a la ejecución de la investigación propuesta

Duración: Doce meses. Para continuar más allá de la fecha de término, el o la candidata debe haber obtenido una beca, luego de presentarse al concurso de la Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo (ANID) antes de terminar el primer año de trabajo. La fecha exacta se publica oportunamente.

Apoyo financiero:
Cantidad mensual: 1.800.000 CLP (aprox. USD 2.350).
En caso de candidato/a proveniente de fuera de Chile, la beca incluye el pasaje (ida y retorno).

Teachers

Description of the postdoctoral position
The candidate is expected to do research on Teachers, Teacher Preparation, Professional Development Practices and Policy (school and higher education levels) at the Center for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE) of the Institute of Education at the Universidad de Chile. Relevant research areas cover issues related to teacher education and development including processes and policies with a focus on national and international comparative relevant problems. The candidate is expected actively to collaborate with researchers in this area and other related areas of CIAE. The Research Center is located in the city of Santiago, the capital of Chile.

Requirements:

• A PhD degree in Education, Sociology, Teaching or other related areas obtained between January 1st, 2019, and May 16th, 2022.
• Evidence of relevant scientific publications.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Fluency in Spanish desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong academic preparation and advanced skills in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.

Research proposal:
The candidate must present a brief research proposal (no longer than 3,000 words) within the scope of the teacher-related areas indicated above. The proposal must describe the research purposes, its conceptual basis, methods, development plan and how it contributes to the education field.

Information about the position
The candidate is expected to be fully dedicated to research in an active research-oriented environment, with no teaching duties

Expected Duration
One year. To continue past the year, the candidate must apply for external funding to the Chilean National Agency of Research and Development (ANID) following its call for applications.
