Postdoctorado Enseñanza y aprendizaje del Lenguaje

Se espera que el/la candidata/a realice investigación sobre temas relevantes de aprendizaje, desarrollo, enseñanza y formación docente en el área del Lenguaje (lectura, escritura, oralidad) en educación primaria o secundaria. Se espera que este conocimiento pueda ser transferido a programas de desarrollo profesional docente y a las políticas públicas. El/la postulante desarrollará su investigación en el área de “Enseñanza y aprendizaje del lenguaje y la literacidad” del Centro de Investigación Avanzada en Educación (CIAE) del Instituto de Estudios Avanzados en Educación de la Universidad de Chile y colaborará activamente con investigadores de esta área y de otras áreas afines del CIAE.

Requisitos:

• Doctorado en Ciencias de la Educación, Lingüística, Psicología o una disciplina relacionada, obtenido entre enero de 2018 y 16 de noviembre de 2020.
• Poseer publicaciones científicas relevantes.
• Sólidas habilidades comunicativas y de trabajo en equipo.
• Experiencia en trabajo interdisciplinario es altamente deseable.

Propuesta de Investigación:

El /la candidato/a debe presentar una breve propuesta de investigación (máximo 3.000 palabras) en relación con los temas de investigación señalados anteriormente. En la propuesta se debe describir el objetivo de la investigación, la metodología, plan de trabajo y su contribución al campo de la educación.

• Una carta de motivación indicando las razones de su postulación (máximo dos páginas)
• Dos cartas de recomendación recientes, centradas en el trabajo académico y habilidades de investigación del candidato, asimismo como su experiencia en trabajo colaborativo

Información sobre la posición:

• Se espera que los candidatos tengan dedicación completa a la investigación, en un ambiente activo orientado a la investigación, sin tareas de enseñanza.
• Duración esperada

-          El CIAE financiará un año. Se espera que el/la candidato/a postule a financiamiento nacional o internacional para continuar su postdoc. La Comisión Nacional de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (CONICYT) tiene un concurso anual para postdocs.

• Información financiera

-          Salario mensual: $1.800.000 antes de impuestos (aproximadamente 2,400 US dólares)

-          Ticket de vuelo (ida y vuelta) será cubierto

Language and Literacy Teaching and Learning

Description of the postdoctoral position

The candidate is expected to conduct research with a focus on any topic relevant for teaching, learning and/or development of language and literacy (either reading, writing, or both) in the context of elementary and/or high-school education. Ideally, this knowledge might have the potential to be transferred to teacher professional development programs and public policies. The applicant is expected to develop their research in the area of "Teaching and learning of language and literacy" of the Center for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE) and will actively collaborate with researchers in this area and other related areas of the CIAE.

Requirements:

• PhD degree in Linguistic, Psychology, Educational Sciences, or a related discipline, obtained between January, 2018 and November 16, 2020.  
• Relevant scientific publications.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience in interdisciplinary work is highly desirable.

Research proposal:

The candidate must present a brief research proposal (up to 3000 words) consistent with the above research topics. The proposal needs to describe the aim of the research, methodology, research plan and its contribution to the education field.

Information about the position

• The candidate will be expected to be fully dedicated to research in an active research-oriented environment, with no teaching duties
• Expected duration

o   One year. The candidate will be expected to apply for external funding to continue their work at CIAE. The Chilean National Commission of Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT) has a postdoctoral public contest.

• Financial information

o   Monthly salary: 1,800,000 Chilean pesos (before taxes, approx. 2,400 US dollars)[1]

o   Flight ticket (round trip) will be covered
